A BRIEF ABOUT OGFZA

The Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority (OGFZA) is the national regulatory agency superintending over the operation of the oil and gas free trade zones in the country.

OGFZA was established by Section 2 of the Oil and Gas Export Free Zone Act No. 8 of 1996 to regulate Nigeria's Oil and Gas free trade zones. The Authority began operation in Onne, Rivers State in 2001.

There are currently seven oil and gas free zones in Nigeria

To be the premier agency of government responsible for promoting, securing and sustaining investments in the nation’s oil and gas free zones.

THE FUTURE OF OGFZA

The dream of the Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority is to be the regulator of reference that can compare with regulators of free trade zones in other jurisdictions such as Singapore, Malaysia, Dubai, etc.

In line with the exceptional performance creed and in partnership with private sector operators using best-in-class PPP model, OGFZA is working to reposition the oil and gas free zones as first ports of call for investors eyeing the Nigeria market.

OGFZA has begun the process of implementing the provisions of its enabling law and Federal Government directives ceding regulatory control of all Oil and Gas Free Zones in the country to OGFZA
