Overview
The Dangote Free Zone Enterprise is a world-class, multi-billion dollar industrial zone located in the Lekki business axis, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State. It is recognized by the Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority (OGFZA) as a prime example of indigenous investment driving Nigeria’s energy security and industrialisation.
As a privately developed free zone, it is regulated by OGFZA for all oil and gas related activities under the Oil and Gas Export Free Zones Act No. 8 of 1996. The Authority is charged with the responsibility to license, regulate, supervise, manage, control and co-ordinate all activities within the zone.
The zone serves as an Energy Economic Zone, significantly boosting Nigeria’s petroleum product exports and fertilizer exports through Nigeria’s waterways.

Anchor Enterprises Inside The Zone
1. Dangote Petroleum Refinery
The world’s largest single-train refinery with a refining capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, upgraded to 700,000 bpd in February 2026 after debottlenecking. Planned expansion to 1.4 million bpd will make it the largest refinery globally, surpassing Jamnagar.
Produces Euro-V gasoline, diesel, Jet Fuel, kerosene and polypropylene. The facility transforms Nigeria from a fuel importer to a net exporter of refined products.
2. Dangote Fertiliser Limited
Africa’s largest Granulated Urea Fertiliser complex. Occupies 500 hectares within the zone with an investment of $2.5 billion and capacity of 3 MMTPA urea. Guarantees substantial foreign exchange savings and supports food security across Africa.
3. Dangote Petrochemical Complex
Sits on over 2,500 hectares. Includes 838 KTPA to 900 KTPA polypropylene plant, expanding to 2.4 million tonnes per annum under Phase II. Supplies raw materials for plastics, packaging and manufacturing industries.
