Mr Usman Bamanga Jada, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority, will serve as one of the speakers at the African Special Economic Zones Annual Meeting in 2025.

Mr Jada was appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in October 2023. Since assuming office, he has played a significant role in advancing Nigeria’s renewed vision for the oil and gas sector. His leadership has encouraged innovation, sustainability, and inclusive growth. The Authority is presently introducing important reforms that aim to strengthen Nigeria’s position in the global energy market and open new opportunities for industrial and investment development.

Mr Jada is known as a seasoned technocrat and administrator. His experience spans civil service administration, financial management, and public sector governance. He has previously held roles at the Energy Commission of Nigeria and the Kano Electricity Distribution Company. He holds a Master of Science degree in Oil and Gas Operations Management from the University of Central Lancashire in the United Kingdom and a Master of Business Administration degree in Marketing, which underline his grounding in energy economics and strategic leadership.

He is expected to offer insights on energy, investment, and industrial transformation under the theme titled African SEZs, Catalysing Sustainable Industrial Investment and Global Value Chains Integration.

The meeting is hosted by the Luanda Bengo Special Economic Zone and the Angolan Ministry of Industry and Commerce, in collaboration with the African Union Commission and the Africa Economic Zones Organisation.
